Digital List Building for the American Air Museum in Britain

Engaging online audiences with mission-relevant creative

American Air MuseumAvalon was delighted to help The American Air Museum in Britain launch a highly successful list building campaign on social media — to help tell their story, generate leads, and drive traffic to a new website we created for them in the United States.

In a series of Facebook ads (testing a variety of iconic images of WWII aircraft and the aviators who liberated Europe from Nazi occupation), their first-ever online ad campaign landed an overall click-through-rate of 4.3% — 4.5 times Facebook’s benchmark average of .91%.

The final flight of Avalon’s digital ads brought in incredible 11.65% and 12.3% click-through rates. That’s pretty impressive considering, we ran these ads in four US states 4,400 miles away from the museum in London which most donors may never see!

The results of this ad campaign also became progressively better because we were able to test:

  • Lead Gen ads with a sign-up form embedded in the Facebook ad against ads that drove traffic right to our client’s new website
  • More compelling images
  • Different call to action — to “Learn More” versus “Sign Up” for free address labels

And we could track the results in each of the 4 US states we chose to launch their first-ever Facebook lead generation ad campaign.
