Barbara Carey

Senior Fundraising Program Manager

Barbara joined the Avalon team in the fall of 2019—most recently from ABD Direct as an account executive helping to design and implement multi-channel fundraising campaigns for progressive nonprofits through selection criteria, test strategies, and performance evaluation. She was instrumental to the budgeting process and managed all aspects of multi-channel campaigns to ensure quality control.

Barbara is also well-versed in list management and list selection, having worked as a list broker, providing detailed list recommendations to clients for direct mail acquisition campaigns. This involved conducting comprehensive list audits and analyzing industry trends and performance results to provide ongoing list recommendations for clients.

As an Avalon senior program manager, Barbara is a key player in producing results-based, data-driven direct mail and telemarketing fundraising campaigns, while maintaining the overall messaging goals of her clients. Her tremendous organization and ability to multi-task serve her clients well as she implements their complex fundraising campaigns.

Outside of work, Barbara can be found traveling to new cities, practicing yoga, attempting to cook, and spending time with family and friends.
