Join Avalon at the Bridge Conference!

Are you interested in…

Finding solutions to your tactical and strategic marketing challenges, learning the steps you can take to advance professionally, and enjoying a great way to network within the industry…?

Then please join me at one of this year’s largest conferences: The 8th Annual Bridge to Integrated Marketing & Fundraising held at the Gaylord National Hotel & Conference Center from July 31 through August 2.

With more than 70 educational sessions to choose from, you will not be disappointed!

Don’t miss two sessions that will be led by three of Avalon’s very own leading industry speakers and our wonderful nonprofit clients:

1) Effective Political Fundraising/Engagement When You’re NOT Running for President

We all saw more than our fair share of political email last year. In light of increased volume and decreased open rates, how do you keep your online political advocacy program engaging supporters and raising money, especially when you don’t have a national or even a statewide race?

When: Thursday, August 1, 2013, 04:00 PM – 05:15 PM
Where: Room – Annapolis 2

Presenters: Mark Grayer, Avalon Consulting Group; Bill Tucker, Avalon Consulting Group; Jason Rosenbaum, Google (formally Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee)

2) America’s Next Top Model — Modeling Your Multi-Channel Program
You need to target your most responsive donors to improve net revenue in your fundraising campaigns and RFM has already been maxed out. This session teaches you when to model, who should be included, how often to model, and how to evaluate whether or not you have a good model in place. We’ll take you through how an Activist Model, a direct mail Logistic Regression Model, and a Telemarketing Model improved the overall performance of a nonprofit’s multi-channel program.

When: Friday, August 2, 2013, 11:15 AM – 12:30 PM
Where: Room – Baltimore 5

Presenters: Rick Malchow, Avalon Consulting Group; Nancy Sturm, League of Women Voters of the United States; Laura Connors, National Parks Conservation Association

And as you gear up for Bridge, here’s a sneak peak of what’s to come: I interviewed Johannah Barry, president of the Galapagos Conservancy and keynote speaker to discuss her upcoming presentation at the Bridge, held on Friday, August 2 at 3:15pm (closing general session).

Finally, I want to recognize and thank everyone who served on the Bridge Committees this year, including Avalon team member, Amanda Dreyfuss, who worked on this year’s volunteer committee.

Working closely with Tiffany Neill of Lautman, Maska, Neill & Company, my amazing marketing co-chair, was a truly wonderful experience. We had an incredible team on the Marketing committee this year, and I’d like to call out the extraordinary work of the entire committee – particularly Kate Carr of Silver Marketing who has done an incredible job on the conference brand and design, and Sean Powell and his team at PMG Engage who have created an incredible website.
