We hope you caught Farm Sanctuary President Gene Bauer’s April 6 appearance on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart! Bauer spoke about his new book, Living the Farm Sanctuary Life, which “covers the basic tenets of Farm Sanctuary life—such as connecting with nature wherever you are, reducing stress, and working to help the environment—and offers simple ways to incorporate these principles into your life.” Visit Farm Sanctuary’s website to read more about this heartwarming book and how to live the Farm Sanctuary life.

The National Museum of the American Indian’s spectacular new exhibit, Cerámica de los Ancestros: Central America’s Past Revealed, opens in New York City on April 18. This bilingual exhibition, a collaboration between NMAI and the Smithsonian Latino Center, “illuminates Central America’s diverse and dynamic ancestral heritage with a selection of more than 150 objects.” Visit the exhibit website for more information—and while you’re there, watch a brief video to hear archeologists and ceramics experts involved in the exhibit discuss their findings and the detective work necessary to determine the origins of objects they’ve found and restored.

We were thrilled to see the Student Conservation Association prominently featured in a recent episode of Morgan Spurlock’s Inside Man series on CNN. Spurlock asks what the National Park Service is doing to attract young people—and learns the answer from young SCA volunteers at Denali National Park in Alaska. SCA’s website links to the episode. While you’re there, check out all of the ways you can participate in Earth Day’s 45th anniversary celebration throughout April all across the country.
