Fundraising Program Manager
John joined Avalon in the fall of 2018, bringing with him a wealth of development experience. In his most recent position, as Associate Director of Marketing on the planned giving team at Georgetown University, John was responsible for designing and managing all planned giving marketing projects and organizing financial planning seminars for alumni and friends—all hugely successful endeavors.
In a variety of positions at the College of William & Mary and Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing arts, he honed his marketing skills with responsibilities that ranged from fundraising to communications to admissions to alumni events to marketing.
As an Avalon fundraising program manager, John’s experience clearly benefits his clients, as he helps to design and implement complex multi-channel direct marketing campaigns.
When John is not working, he is playing cello with his string quartet and string trio, training for his next marathon, or traveling. John sang in an a cappella group in college, and while he doesn’t currently sing with a formal group, can often be found frequenting some of DC’s karaoke bars—he even sang on a competitive karaoke team for a couple of seasons.
