Jeff joined the Avalon team in 2010, bringing with him a passion for fundraising and the desire to help nonprofits create real change. At Avalon, Jeff’s production and data management skills have contributed to the success of client programs for Farm Sanctuary, the League of Women Voters, and the National Parks Conservation Association. He is also closely involved in creative and strategy development and particularly enjoys the process of helping clients distill large amounts of information into concise, but effective fundraising messages.

Jeff was previously an account manager at the direct marketing consulting firm Craver, Mathews, Smith & Company (CMS), where he managed multi-channel campaigns for Americans United for Separation of Church and State, the Unitarian Universalist Association, Project HOPE, City Harvest, and Heifer International.

Jeff’s first exposure to nonprofit fundraising was as a membership intern at NARAL Pro-Choice America, where he had the opportunity to speak directly with members and help them with their questions and issues related to membership This experience inspired and motivated him to pursue a career that would enable him to help nonprofits he cared about fulfill their missions.

Jeff is an avid reader, and especially loves a good book on U.S. politics or ancient history. On most Fall Saturdays, he’s rooting for his alma mater’s football team, the UW Huskies. But don’t confuse him for a couch potato—he ran the U.S. Marine Corps Marathon last year!

Jeff’s favorite furry person is his dog, Harold, who he insists is “50% Beagle, 50% Husky, and 100% Awesome.”
