  • Many of our clients are asking for advice these days on testing mobile marketing. I saw this helpful primer — 10 Ways Nonprofits Can Send Mobile-Friendlier Email — that covers a lot of ground.  All of the suggestions are simple — but not necessarily intuitive – ways to make your emails easier for supporters to read on various mobile devices.

I had the opportunity to attend this year’s NTEN (Nonprofit Technology Network) Conference recently, along with my colleagues Barb Perell and Jamie Natelson. If you’re as confused as ever on how to tackle social media for your organization you’re not alone … many nonprofits struggle with where to begin.  In order to separate fact from fiction, I recently attended DMAW’s Social Media Marketing Day with several Avalon colleagues.  Billed as “it’s not just tactics – it’s strategy” we came away with some great recommendations on how to build lasting relationships with fans, tools on how to actually execute (and track) a social media campaign, and how best to move forward after failure.
