Avalon is committed to understanding our impact on the environment and pursuing a “green” approach to direct marketing

Avalon recognizes how vital it is to incorporate environmental stewardship in the conduct of our business. We are committed to understanding the impact our organization has on the environment and working to continually improve our environmental performance, while encouraging our suppliers and clients to do the same.

To this end, Avalon follows these best practices in our business:

  • List Hygiene and Data Management - We manage data and lists in an environmentally responsible manner with a focus on reducing the amount of duplicate, unwanted, and undeliverable mail. This includes helping clients keep their lists clean, employing suppression lists, minimizing duplications, and testing packages to optimize response.

  • Design, Production, and Printing - We strive to design and print direct marketing materials in an environmentally responsible manner, and we communicate our environmental expectations to our partners and suppliers. We work with our designers and production partners to develop package formats that create the least amount of waste possible, avoid toxic materials, and are conducive to recycling.

  • Paper Procurement and Clean Production – We recognize that improving forestry practices is an important component of environmental stewardship and sustainability. We strive to procure, use, and recover paper in a manner that helps to ensure the sustainable use of forests and other natural resources.

  • Recycling and Pollution Reduction – Avalon is guided by the Three Rs: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. We seek an efficient and environmentally sensible workplace, as well as to promote environmental stewardship in our community.

Recognizing the potential impact on client budgets, Avalon works with our production partners to provide cost-effective green options and to fairly and accurately communicate the “green value” of these options.
